"GROWING FROM SEED" discusses types of seed how they germinate, seed raising techniques, general cultivation,watering and fertilising as well as a number of helpful tips to make seed raising even easier and more enjoyable.

FULLY TRULY ORGANIC RANGE

Truly organic range
Mr Fothergill's Organic Vegetable Seed range is Australia's and New Zealand's first truly organic range. Our seed is produced on terms which have been officially authorised as meeting all the required organic standards. The seed crops are grown on soil which has taken at least five years to reach this standard and the crops themselves are hand maintained and weeded without the use of artificial chemicals in the form of herbicides, pesticides or fertilisers.


BEETROOT DETROIT RED GLOBE
An old favourite which takes some beating. Easily grown, versatile, deep crimson in colour, strong skin and high yielding.

CARROT EARLY NANTES 2
Early Nantes is very prolific, even in heavy soils, and will produce long, smooth skinned carrots, Sweet tasting with a fine flavour. Delicious as a hot vegetable or grated over salads.

CUCUMBER MARKETMORE
A super tasty, straight fruited slicing cucumber with excellent resistance to powdery and downy mildew. Ideal for growing in pots.

SILVERBEET SILVER WHITE
A dual purpose vegetable - harvest for leaf and stem - celery flavoured stalks and spinach like leaves. Easy to produce, requires little maintenance and it has a long cropping life.

TOMATO SAN MARZANO
Marvelous, highly productive, medium large plumb variety with tasty fruits. Very fleshy, this tomato is ideal fro use in salads, sauces, soups or grills.

ZUCCHINI BLACK BEAUTY
Zucchinis like a sunny, sheltered position and rich soil. Ideal for the garden or pots, Black Beauty is a very tasty variety either as a hot vegetable or fried in butter. Produces heavy crops of very dark green, nearly black, zucchinis.

Italian Salad
Containing Rocket, Basil Genavese, Lettuce Lotto Rosse, Chicory catalogna and Raddicchio Palla Rossa.

Oriental Salad
Chinese cabbage Wong Bok, Pak Choi, Red Giant Mustard, Mixuna and Rosette Pak Choi.

French Salad
Containing chervil, Lambs Lettuce, Lettuce All Year Round, Chicory Frisee Frisela and Chicory Pain de Sauce.

Seasonings for Salad
Containing Coriander, Chervil, American Cress, Rocket and Red Giant Mustard.

English Salad
Containing Leaf Celery, Chives, Beetroot, Crimson Globe, Lettuce All Year Round and Lettuce Green Cos.
