Some flowers like shade or sun, some are sown in spring or autumn. Other species can be sown all the year round. Some grow in poor soil where others like wet soil.
They are divided into these groups:-
Annuals. These are summer which are sown in the spring or winter/spring flowering plants which are sown in summer and autumn. They will complete their life span in one year.
Biennials. They will live for two years and flower in the first year. After the leaves die back and the plant becomes dormant and as the flowering season comes around again, the plant breaks into fresh new leaf growth and a second flowering appears. Then the plant dies like the annual plants.
Perennials. These are plants that will live effectively for a life of three years and if the conditions are right then they may go on living for many years or remain in the garden permanently.

PLANTING VEGETABLES FROM SEED
Depending on the part we eat, vegetables can be divided into four main groups. All these parts listed below need to be fed with the right fertiliser to promote healthy young tissue. to achieve this we must grow the plants quickly. Most of us some time in our life have experienced tough, stringy, dry vegetables, so it is important to feed the plants with the right product.
Fruit and root vegetables need large quantities of phosphorus in fertiliser as this will stimilate the roots flowers and seed. Using high nitrogen will produce too much leaf growth and this will reduce the yields of fruit and seed.
Crops we grow for leaf and flower buds should be fed with high nitrogen fertilisers to so the leaf growth will be lush and tender in texture.
Root or Bulb. These are:- beetroot, carrots, onions, parsnips, potatoes, raddish, shallots, swede and turnips.
Stems or Leaves. These are:- cabbage, celery, lettuce, rhubarb, silver beet, and spinach.
Fruit and Seed. These are:- beans, pea and snow peas, capsicums, eggplant, tomato, sweet corn, and vine crops (cucurbits:- Cucumbers, water melons etc.)
Flowers These are the flower buds we eat:- broccoli and cauliflower.
ORGANIC RANGE
The seed crops are grown on soil which has taken at least five years to reach this standard and the crops themselves are hand maintained and weeded without the use of artificial chemicals in the form of herbicides, pesticides or fertilisers. Organic Seed Range
